Animals Collage
This project came with excitement for the kids at the Kalamaiki art class! The hard part was to choose which animals to make :) I made a Cat and the Owl as collage examples for the class and explained the collage technic's potential uses.
I used some old magazines to tear apart and glue on the paper. I told them to group the magazine pages by colors and then choose their animal's primary color. After they finished gluing the pieces of the magazine, the animal background was ready. Meanwhile, they drew the eyes and the nose on a separate paper then painted and glued them to the collage background. The mouth, whiskers, and some shades are added as final touches.
