Elephant - Scratch Art and Hatch Patterns

elephant-hatching_artclass_by_mara_branco.jpg

Creating patterns improves your imagination. Develops eye-hand coordination and enhances drawing skills.

This fun project will keep you and your kids busy for a while. You need to have a little patience waiting for the paint to dry.

You will need:

  • white paper

  • crayons

  • black water-soluble ink

  • pencil

  • stylus or wooden skewer

Color your drawing with the crayons. Make sure you cover all the paper thoroughly, then paint it with black paint and dry it.

While you wait for the paint to dry, you can think about the patterns to use on your drawing. Let the kids sketch some designs on a paper (this is a fun process too, and kids learn how to think and plan)

When the paint is dried, you can start scratching and making your hatch patterns.

Try to do this project with your kids, take your time, and have fun.
